Great to finally see this again. Been searching since the first time I saw it. NWT always came on at the end of Night Flight, and was like this secret subversive hotline to the revolution.

There was none of the distribution channels available now back them, so you have to appreciate how unique this exposure was. In some ways, better than today, because when you are not as ubiquitous, you retain your uniqueness. This show started as public access and ended up as a bit of a sacred trust when we realized how many people we were reaching weekly.

I got a better Rayonics clip I will post as soon as I can find it. NWT was open to many musical forms and as such was not strictly punk, but more of a rolling celebration of the local music scene in LA at the time that got instant national exposure because of cable tv.

Hey Jolt--Do you have a copy of the Rayonics doing "Skeleton with a Raincoat Hat On"? I've been trying to find a copy for over 20 years, and have begun to think that they never recorded it in the studio--but I know they performed it on NWT--it's etched into my brain. That song has been haunting me all these years! Please, please, please tell me you have a copy!! Thanks-

The singer was the drummer's girl friend and worked at Ball Beauty the local hair products emporium and a hang-out for local musicians in the 80's. This was a local scene gone national thanks to USA national, so I had to put her in.
