The students at Southwest Key Programs, East Austin College Prep Academy (EACPA) have something extraordinary to celebrate this year-they have actively participated in a conservation project in order to better our world!
This project is conducted in thousands of schools across the country via a special network of educators called Earth Foundation. The students at EACPA elected to take on this project after learning about the importance of the Amazon and how the Rainforest plays an essential role in our weather, the prevention of global warming, and how it provides a bounty of food and medicines.
By selling environmental T-shirts, EACPA students raised funds that will protect plants and animals in the Amazon Rainforest. EACPA students and staff are proud to announce that 22 acres of the Amazon Rainforest have been saved due to their efforts! As a result of this accomplishment, EACPA is now a member of the 20 Acre Club and is now nationally recognized!
