31 seconds in to the video there is a slide that says how did the media portray the strike and did they give the miners a bad reputation. It was a 5 mintue presentation I couldn't of got every aspect of the strike in. I think the slides saying the media missed the suffering of everyday people supports your those are real people comment. If you hate it that much make your own video....now jog on

18 years of age in '84; no money,got arrested,got dumped,fought weekly wi' scabs;one of the best fuckin' years of my life! Why? Wised up to the government,TUC,police,media,ju­dicial service Etc. Only a handful of pits open now, heroin epidemics in run down pit communities, gas,petrol and electric prices sky high!!

I was 12 at the time from a village called clipstone in notts. The bully boy strikers lost big time. The scabs lost big time and every poor fucker who lived and breathed community lost. We can never get the spirit back. Generations hate each other and drugs will eventually ease the memories. Words can't describe the hate that's still there...What a fucking shame people.

i thought it was a gd video brought bk some shivering memories for me im from a mining family dont matter which end of world it is u see mates dads die n then husbands and then try n fight for their own families living, n that was just in my bit, i was lucky my dad lived and husband in disabled ways but still here they are ace try to look after others they wasent thugs or out of order they just wanted a fair job to bring money home to family

Nice video but your wrong to pigeon hole people like that i.e working classes supported Labour and the middle and upper classes supported the Conservatives. If it weren't for the working classes in the south (towns like Basildon for example) Thatcher would have struggled to get into government. The other side of the coin is true as well, Labour got it's fair share of middle class voters post election 83.
