  • hey i herd that they need to be nearly the same age to breed... and my friend said that if u put them together they will sometimes fight if they do fight wot do u do? do they get used to being in the same home then they wont fight? and one more question how long do they take to lay eggs

  • They don't have to be the same age to breed...both geckos just need to be sexually mature and at proper weights....for males, this is usually around 8-9 months. Females take longer to reach breeding weights and I recommend they weigh at least 50 grams.....I opt for 55 grams at the very least personally. Sometimes the female isn't interested and there IS a scuffle with some biting...it happens, but there is rarely any injury involved. The fight usually breaks up fairly quickly with no interferece

  • hey dude ive got a question everytime i try to breed the male goes for it and the female runs away(shesvery skitish) since she wont go easy he will try the biting technique to hold on 2 her but she bites him back so he lets go..im confused

  • The key is trying to time the "meeting" with the female's ovulation...this is when she will be most receptive. It took a long time for this girl to tolerate breeding...I had originally thought she was a "hot female" and would never breed, but she mated 2X now.....just separate them when they fight and reintroduce them a few days later.........you should time it right eventually...you can also use the "paper trick" to get the female to ovulate...just google "leopard gecko paper trick"

see all
