@Gracopro1 First, the cliche is "took for granted". ("Granite" is a rock.) Second, times square is right in the heart of Manhattan, there's hardly danger of washing out to sea or anything, even if it wasn't downgraded to a tropical storm. Third, it's not like they committed to playing hockey at risk to their lives. There are numerous apartments and hotels in the area. Fourth, a fool is the one who still heeds advice that doesn't match the reality they see with their eyes.
