My 3000th freefall skydive was from a Stearman Biplane. I did a gainer from the wing, and the pilot rolled over and chased me down. Lost a little track of altitude and had a lower than planned opening.

  • If you were fully inflated around 1000, then you dumped at about 2, which is not so bad. I mean d license are allowed to pull at two.

  • That was a fast opening canopy. Probably 1500 pull.

  • Dude I jump a Sabre, come on?

  • OK,it was a 4800 foot exit (or less) Put a stop watch on it. :)

  • What were you open at? That looked a bit naughty low. At Old Buckenham airfield (UK parachuting) there is a private owned Stearman. I always wanted to jump that thing while getting on the Nomad

  • About a grand under canopy.
