华府大纪元九周年 格市市长宣布大纪元日
2009年11月13日晚，美国大华府地区的政商界名流汇聚在靠近华盛顿的阿灵顿希尔顿酒店，庆祝华府《大纪元时报》创办九周年。《大纪元时报》华府分社办公室所在地马里­兰州格底斯堡市市长悉尼·卡兹（Sidney Katz）先生签发褒奖，宣布2009年11月13日为大纪元日。

大纪元坚守报导事实真相的原则，赢得了美国主流的尊重和信赖。美国国会众议员罗斯科·巴特莱特
（Roscoe G. Bartlett）在贺信中说：他的办公室把《大纪元时报》作为了解中国事件的值得信赖的新闻媒体，大纪元已经成为西方政要的宝贵新闻资源。中国官方控制的媒体达不到可以­接受的透明标准，因此，为发达国家提供有关中国的信息这个重要任务就落在像大纪元这样的媒体上。

到2009年，大纪元时报有十一个语种的报纸，中文《大纪元时报》每周发行量向200万份迈进，在全球设有中英文分社近四十多家，分布全球六十多个国家和地区的记者网络，­发行地区覆盖全球三十多个国家，为数众多的国际城市，特别是中文大纪元，基本上是有华人的地方就有大纪元。

在大华府地区，《大纪元时报》目前是唯一的中、英文双语大报。

大纪元总编郭军女士11月13日在华府《大纪元时报》创办九周年的庆典上说：面对全球经济的衰退和报业萧条，也有少数逆流而上的媒体。《大纪元时报》就是佼佼者之一。大纪­元是少数不受经济波动而一路发展的媒体。

The Epoch Times celebrated the ninth anniversary of its publication, Nov. 13 2009, with a dinner gala celebration at the Hilton in Arlington, VA.

The gala celebration brought together prominent leaders in Washington, D.C., members of the Asian community, leaders in the minority business community and Epoch Times supporters.

In attendance were Mrs. Annette Lantos, wife of the late Tom Lantos, co-founder of the Congressional Human Rights Caucus;

Former Ambassador to Denmark Richard Swett, and a member of the board of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Foundation;

The Epoch Times Chinese-language edition began publishing in New York in May 2000 in response to a growing need for uncensored coverage of events in China. Three years later, the English-language edition launched on the web in Sept. 2003. Since the beginning of its publication, The Epoch Times has grown into a global newspaper, published across five continents in 30 countries and 17 languages. With its multi language print and online publication, The Epoch Times has naturally become an outlet to reach and connect diverse cultural groups.

The Epoch Times U.S. edition is published weekly in six cities: Washington, D.C., Boston, Dallas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York, where it is published daily.
