  • Well if they didn't behave this way in the first place, why would they ever get in contact with the psych?

  • I just find it humorous how society labels people who do not fit their social criteria freaks or mentally ill. I believe that society as a whole needs to seek therapy, not us. No wonder why people are so depressed. Society doesn't let them be themselves. You have to be like everybody else. We schizoids know who we are.

  • Schizoid personality disorder isn't so black and white. In my experience schizoids can enjoy social experiences as long as they are familiar. After exposing themselves they will need to 'recharge' their batteries with alone time. Several days of being social in a row will cause strong urges towards social avoidance. I would argue Schizoid is rooted within high levels of intellectualism and childhood emotional negligence or abuse.

  • @RiordanX i thought i was one 6 months ago. turned out that i wasn't (a psychologist told me). and i'm the kind of guy that only hangs out once a month, and when i do so, i really enjoy it. and the "high levels of intellectualism" part also fits me. after analysing the social relationships between my classmates i once arrived to the conclusion that they were all fake, and that anyone could kill me any time they wanted. so i stopped talking to people to become invisible. i'm ok now.

  • @RiordanX you hit the nail on the head

  • Woah woah woah, that porn comment was out of line. Whether or not it's true, excessive porn use is stigmatized, and such a comment only serves to stigmatize the personality.

  • I'm nearly 90% sure I have this disorder, in an intermediate form. I notice a difference between how psychologists present and define the disorder and how sufferers (I hesitate to call them that) define it. We are not colorless. In fact our interior lives may be bright and vibrant. Luckily, one symptom that I fail to exhibit is lack of motivation. I have too many delusions of grandeur to not fulfill them. And I have no problem with walking over people, because I really just don't care.

  • @RiordanX I've never thought to describe it like that, but that's pretty well said :3 I don't have this disorder, though--I just don't feel "real" a lot of the time.

  • @vmizzell ooh, ooh! meeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • Why should you switch up their working schedule? If they don't want to be with people, what's the harm?

  • Schizoid = Watching lots of porn, well that's some inside right there, don't you think?

  • @Hateeternal2009

Because the world around you makes you feel alien.

  • I'm a writer and an illustrator in childrens books. It use to be perfect to me. I only get contact with my editors and other authors. But... now, people call me to TV interviews, schools and bookfairs... kind of funny...
