The used Cisco 1841 router with WIC-1DSU-T1-V2 is a great solutions for small to medium offices who are upgrading to T1 internet service. Enjoy the flexibility the 1841 offers for robust T1 speeds and reliable service.
A T1 is 1.5 x 1.5 Mbps (megabits per second). Which is less than many DSL and Cable broadband options. However since a T1 is symmetrical (same bandwidth upstream as well as downstream), and "dedicated" (not shared within a local area), and is typically full duplex (can download AND upload at the same time) -- this often makes a T1 more robust, reliable, and capable of better throughput. All of which are features ideally suited for business usage. If more bandwidth is needed, T1s can be bonded.

@tanman1346 MB as in MEGABYTES. You have DSL running at 5.5 MEGABITS. a BYTE is 8 times the size of a bit. So. the T1 line is running at roughly 12 MEGABITS per second, without compressions which all PRI's have. The nice thing about T1 lines is that YOU WILL ALWAYS GET your bandwidth, as it is a dedicated circuit to the telco local exchange. Not getting your bandwidth results in a yellow or red alarm, which generally means broken.

I'm confused.. Does this provide 1.5 mbps to all lines? My home dsl is 5.5mpbs? is this faster then that? and if so how much. I am looking into this for my business and server since we use a lot of band with each month.

W have a 2850 (2 space version of this chassie) with 2 GigE ports on it. PPS processing is in the millions. As far as the fans. They are thermal controlled. When you boot it up it's really loud and then they spin down until they are needed. Ours rarely kick up and I have 400 + customers on it. Processor typically sits at about 10%-15% and we are natting with it which I understand is very tough on processors.

What is the pps (packets per second) on it? Also, does it have fans that run constant? Is it loud?
