I found a website which said to enter this command in the Terminal-
sudo apt-get install libasound2-plugins "pulseaudio-*" paman padevchooser paprefs pavucontrol pavumeter
I did and still no sound. OK Then I opened Pulse Audio Volume control. Under Recording I also opened the RecordMyDesktop then Recording in Pulse came with a box- I switched it to Monitor of Internal Audio Analog Stereo.
I can now record sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well thanks to this video I did something in Terminal. My RecordMyDesktop accepts these-
hw:0,0 and hw:Intel,0 and the word default.
However it still does not record the sound. I believe it originally had the word default so nothing has been gained but some insights. Still looking for a fix.
