I remember this day very well. Cold morning, which is why Tex is wearing a long sleeve shirt. But by the time the set started it got warmer and he was pissed he wore this shirt. lol!

He quit a few years back. I think he has left music altogether. He is replaced by the guy in the video - Severo Jornacion, commonly known as "The Thrilla", because he comes from the Philippines.

The Smithereens are pretty amazing. They've been playing these same songs for years, but they play them as though they'd learnt them last week. Even the most aedent admirer of Mike Mesaros has to admit that Thrilla and his Jag has slotted in nicely. Even that corny triple axel at the end looks great.
They're just a great live band.
