February 2010. They call it one of the hardest black runs in Europe and now I know why the infamous Le Tunnel.
At over 3,000 meters high on the shaded side of pic blanc lies the steep, mogul filled Tunnel run. We were advised by our guide not to ski Le Tunnel as if you need rescuing then it costs £900.00. However we pressed on and then saw for ourselves with terror just how steep the run really is. The first few turns are the hardest as I was still trying to remember how to ski and stop my knees shaking.
Upon reaching the bottom it was a great feeling and I know I'm a better skier for doing it. I hope you enjoy the video.

The whole film was shot using a Pentax W60 waterproof camera. I simply attached it to my helmet using elastic bands. I have now recently bought a Go Pro Hero HD 960 camera and this is purpose built to attach to anyone and anything. I would advise that you get yourself a Go Pro. Hope you have a good time in Alpe d'huez.

The song is Reef - Put your hands on. I agree that it isnt that tough however it is alot easier if you have your boots done up! I took my skis off and undid my boots at the top to get the scenic footage. I then put my skis back on and skied to the bottom with my boots totally undone! Whoops you live and learn :)
