Today we go to the Maryland International Speedway to the NOPI International Car Show and Drag Races. We get to see cars and motorcycles race the quarter mile in under 9 seconds.
Rear wheel drive cars are opposite. You want the weight to transfer because the rear wheels are driving the car and not the front. In that case, the weight would transfer ON TO the drive wheels instead of OFF OF the drive wheels. This helps keep traction and, coupled with the torque of the engine, can cause the front tires to pick up off the ground. It's a little scary the first time it happens but once you learn not to turn the wheel, it's exhilirating.
Dude should have taken someone who knew something more about the sport. The wheelie bars an a front wheel drive car are more to keep traction on the front wheels. Front wheel drive cars don't pick the front wheels up off the ground like rear wheel drive cars do. The wheelie bars help keep the cars weight on the front wheels under hard acceleration. If the wieght transfers, the tires spin. If your tires are spinning, you're not going as fast as if they were gripping.
