Here is Rachmaninoff (1873-1943) himself playing the first movement (Moderato) from his second piano concerto.

Written between 1900 and 1901, Rachmaninoff slaved over its composition for many hours a day for more than half a year. It had been the first large work he had created since his poorly received first piano concerto four years earlier.

The result, however, remains one of Rachmaninoff's most well-known and beloved works that is a pillar in today's piano repertoire. The concerto was first performed in its entirety on October 27, 1901 in Moscow.

This record collection was recorded in 1929 by RCA victor with Rachmaninoff's favorite orchestra; the Philadelphia Orchestra. Leopold Stokowski (1882-1977) is conducting.

I definitly know what you are talking about. But in my opinion reading youtube-comments mostly is mental suicide. Of course not all of them, but most of them. So here I give you something to talk about: I think this is one of the most beautiful pieces in music (like many of Rachmaninoff) but I think he plays it (like many of them) too fast. Am I able to say that, because I mean, he composed it?

Maybe indistinguishable to less sensitive ears... There are other factors involved besides just copying the sound quality. It's the same reason classical pianists nowadays still prefer to perform strictly on acoustic pianos rather than digital. I've seen some amazing digital pianos, but it still isn't the same. It's those minute intricacies that make it impossible to digitize to the same type of quality as the original.

I wouldn't know about lyrics... personally I'm not into music with words.

Even if white people are using more birth control and focusing more on enjoying life than following the conservative family trends, we'll still always have a continuously multiplying white christian population :(

There are good, informative comments sometimes. It's really unfair to have to weed through a lot of negativity to get to them, and then get just as much more negative feedback for posting one.

No wonder the world never stops fighting--it's full of people who are just here to enjoy the chaos :(

I'm here for the music too~ I love listening to it, and something like that is also worth talking about :)

I'll ignore the part about deleting the comment. However, I will reply to the other points in the message, since they are more substantial than your reply.

Any sound that a human or instrument can be recreated on a computer at a quality that makes it indistinguishable. It would be nice if this weren't true, but it just is.

To tell the truth though, I just enjoy acoustic music overall. In my opinion, lyrics cheat the mind, since it directly connects with the part of the brain that reads language.
