She wore Blue Velvet
Bluer than velvet was the night
Softer than satin was the light
From the stars

She wore blue velvet
Bluer than velvet were her eyes
Warmer than May her tender sighs
Love was ours

Ours a love I held tightly
Feeling the rapture grow
Like a flame burning brightly
But when she left gone was the glow of

She wore Blue Velvet
But in my heart there'll always be
Precious and warm a memory through the years
And I still can see Blue Velvet through my tears

(Instrumental)

She wore Blue Velvet
But in my heart there'll always be
Precious and warm a memory through the years
And I still can see Blue Velvet through my tears

She wore Blue Velvet
But in my heart there'll always be
Precious and warm a memory through the years
And I still can see Blue Velvet through my tears

  • Hard to think that even a 20 year old degenerate listening to underground gangster rap and experimental hard rock can appreciate something as perfect as this.

  • I want a do-over from age 14 forward. Sigh. Perhaps it's best we never know what comes next. I think people would just end it right then if all the heart aches and pain were not only known, but felt all at once, which would happen to a full memory, do - over. This song takes me back to what was and yet lifts me up to realize, there is time for new love which springs from the ashes of what should have been. Thanks for this beautiful haunt from the Golden Years of my youth.
