Abstract Globalization has been greatly affected by the invention of the cell phone and the advancements it has made over the years. Its availability and constantly improving technology has put the world literally at our fingertips. Our way of life would be completely different if cell phones didn’t exist. Our documentary covered the important aspects of how the cell phone has evolved over the years to bring globalization to new heights.
Our documentary shows the evolution of the cell phone and the impact it has had on our lives and the quick advancements of globalization around the world. We focus on Apple’s slogan, “stay where you are, we are coming to you,” as an exemplar of the measures cell phone companies are taking in order to further globalize other countries and level the economic playing field. This attempt by Apple allows us to reach across the world in a more efficient way. We also focus on the fact that the amount of children with cell phones is a constantly growing number. We interviewed several different generations of people to see how their lives are affected by cell phones and how much easier communication has been made due to the constantly evolving cell phone. Finally, in an attempt to clearly define globalization, we have only just begun exploring the magnitude of the importance of the cell phone and how it continues to change our way of life, connecting us to the world.
