I can't give you a "formitable" reason why he won because neither I, nor any other American, voted to give him the peace prize. Duh! It does not carry any particular significance to me one way or the other whether Obama won the peace prize or not. What really bothers you, though. is that you think Obama has improved America's standing in the world community and that makes you angry. You want America to be outcast from the world, don't you.

Also, there were numerous plans deviated for a rescue effort, but Operation Eagle Claw was the only one carried out. The hostages were rescued. Carter kept his head, and through diplomatic negotiatiions he was able to bring them all home with zero loss of life. He could have brought them home sooner, but Reagan made a deal whereby the Iranians would hold them until he was sworn in and then they would release them. That way Reagan would look like the hero. Too bad he made a deal with the devil for power, but then, what republican hasn't.
