Carly talked about this song choice in one of her exit interviews. She said the theme was pick a song that inspired you. Since Carly's second favorite band (after Heart) was Queen she said this song was an easy choice. She said the process was too far along to switch to a more traditional "inspirational song" and she was glad that she stuck with it and got to to a Queen song on the show and survived. I love how honest she is in interviews.

Wake up everyone! Obviously this song sounds "angry" that's because it's a different kind of inspirational song. It's more of a war cry, victorious song than a stupid "la la la lets love everyone song." This is meant to inspire someone who's been beaten down to get up and take action. THAT'S WHY IT SOUNDS LIKE THAT.

i think she did an amazing job. and she doesn't look angry to me... that's the way the song is supposed to be sang. I just don't think people get it.

What a fierce stage presence! What an incredible singer! I've been watching Idol now for seven long years and have never seen anyone this good before. I'm voting for Carly because I'm wanting more of this. Love it! I want another HEART cover!!! Full version of Alone, perhaps? : P
