Stickman Dance

A short animation I completed recently for my first international client, from the USA.

Initially the stickmen simply needed to dance randomly, but I was then asked to imitate the hilarious "Carlton Banks" dance from the TV show "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air".

Unfortunately, certain three-dimensional movements don't translate well into 2D, so I added a couple of other recognisable dance moves that better lend themselves to digital cut-out animation. One character is doing the infamous "Mc Hammer" dance, as seen in his hit "U Can't Touch This". Another character is doing "The Running Man".

The animation needed to be seamlessly loopable, which also added to the complexity.
