I recently received an order for a set of our scripture song CDs, but when the folks who ordered them found that I was on You Tube, they noticed that I had listed some rather "questionable" influences in terms of the people who had inspired me musically. So they wrote me another e-mail asking me to put their order on hold until they had time to "consider prayerfully" whether they should even order any of our scripture song CDs. I wrote them back immediately and assured them that I would be most willing to refund their donation to our ministry if they felt that it was necessary. I also shared with them why I sometimes use the songs of "unsaved" people to minister here on You Tube in order to be "all things to all people that I might win some," and that if I only used fully bonafide and church-approved sacred music, I would for the most part only be singing to the choir. I further shared that I used to be as discriminating as they are, and for similar reasons, but that it severely limited my ability to minister to those who needed it most. I also shared that there are many songs written by people who don't profess to be Christians, and may even be openly hostile to people who call themselves Christians, that have relevance to the gospel and may even have been inspired by God as a message to the writers themselves as He (God) seeks to draw them to Himself. I used as an illustration the words to the song I'm sharing in this video. While they didn't agree with my reasoning, and withdrew their order, I couldn't help but share this song with all of you in the light of the gospel. Jesus is indeed our only truly reliable source of help in time of need.
Oh, by the way, John Lennon stated that this song was one of the first, if not the first, honest song he ever wrote!
Help, I need Somebody,
Help, not just anybody,
Help!
When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors.
Help me (I know you can), I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me?
And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,
My independence seems to vanish in the haze.
But every now and then I feel so insecure,
I know that I just need you like I've never done before.
Help me (I know you can), I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me.
When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors.
Help me (I know You can), I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me, help me, help me, oh.
Awesome!

It's interesting that Jesus' (or Yashua, if you like) message to today's church is that we think we are rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing, but know not that we are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked. However, the hopeful part of the message is, "behold, I stand at the door and knock, and if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come into him and sup with him, and he with Me." Rev. 3:20
Yes! We all need help! Thanks, Claire, for your comment. Blessings!
