Yom Kippur

So, today is Yom Kippur, and I'm pretty hungry from fasting all day. Let's hope that whomever this country elects will help to solve these problems we are in and that the world has. Shanah Tova.

OK, please don't take this as an attack on your religion, because it isn't, but I really don't understand why the Jews deserve a homeland? Why not the Muslims? Or the Christians? Or the Pagans? What entitles Jews to a "homeland"? Because the way I see it this attitude is the very thing that is causing so many problems in the Middle East, among many other things.

I know some Jews who have the same questions, but none of them have ever been to Israel. We are the world's oldest monotheistic religion. Islam and Christianity descended from Judaism. But, there are barely any of us compared to any other important religion. Those other religions occupy regions of the world. Muslim - Middle east. So on. Plus we've been taken over by country after country. We've wandered and wandered, never having an actual homeland.

After almost being entirely exterminated by the Germans, many people believed that we deserved a homeland.

1) The Pagans have no homeland and have been almost wiped out for the last 1500 years.

2) Pagans are even smaller in number then Jews - WAY smaller. And Paganism is way older than Judaism.

why is it that all israel supporters recite the 'only democracy in the ME' chant ad nauseum?

what if mexico is the only true catholic nation in latin america? should we arm mexico to the teeth and let them slaughter guatemalans?

the truth is we don't have democracy in the US. we have a foreign body called AIPAC, which has centralized the political process. Down to Lehrer and Schieffer moderating debates.

let israel let us regain our democracy, then we'll have freedom and means to support it.

Some Palastinians are ignorant and radical. Many aren't. I have nothing against Muslims. I am not racist or ethnicist or whatever you want to call it like you are. I don't like Muslim extremists, but I don't write Muslims off. I know some Muslims and they are all caring nice people.

I do believe that Palastine should be it's own country, but for now, Israel needs its resources to fight off the extremists. (Israel, is not by the way Palestine. Palestine is about half of it.)
