Solidarity Vigil with Tim DeChristopher who today, July 26, 2011, has been found guilty of two felonies by a jury that wasn't allowed to hear his defense. Tim bid on Bush Administration Bureau of Land Management oil and gas contracts, thereby stalling their sale until the Department of Justice found that the sale was illegal. The sale was eventually rescinded by the Obama Administration.

  • This is the first that I have heard of this trial......I believe it's just a matter of time before people catch on and actually do something about our ecological mess. It's time to clean up America! We can start with the corruption in our government leadership.

  • @lusterosticify

The reason this is the first that so many people are hearing about this is the corruption of our news media. If they don't do their job, then no one hears about the important events of the day. Of course, the other side of this is the apathy and complacency of our population, who really don't want to be bothered to think critically about local, national and international events that affect them down the road.

  • Free Tim DeChristopher!

  • We, the people of the United States have gone insane; we jail the peacemakers and pay to hear people like Karl Rove,Palin,Wu, Cheney and even Bush. The FBI is now arresting people who have worked in the peace movement for years, putting them on trial and convicting them with the cooperation of corrupt judges; we are sick and need an intervention of the highest order. We protested this conviction because Tim is a hero and in most civilized societies he would have been honored.

  • @Jdpauletto No, I'm not ignorant. I live in the area he supposedly saved. Unlike you I'm not relying on the news and DeChristopher's self hype for my information.

  • @TheSagebrushRebel WTF are you talking about? Are you really that fucking ignorant? How on Earth did DeChrisophers actions take food off the tables of anyone or help the foreclosure of anyone's home? Please provide proof of any of your accusations before you speak. Your accusations are Fox News worthy!

  • Food taken off tables, and homes foreclosed on because of DeChristopher's actions. I'll not shed a tear for him. Justice was served.

  • Thanks Everyone for being in solidarity w/ Tim

More info under the title "Solidarity and Action for Tim DeChristopher sentencing hearing " is posted on Portland Indymedia ~joe anybody
