When Typhoon Frieda made landfall at Cape Blanco, it had sustained winds of 150 mph and was producing gusts up to 179 mph.
The colubus day storm formed from the remnants of typhoon Freda and reenergized off the California coast into a super storm. Some of the peak wind gusts were over 145 mph at Cape Blanco, Ore., 138 at Newport, 127 at Corvallis, 116 in Portland and 96 in Astoria...strange coincidence...

hmmmm 1961 to 1963 experiments ....October 12th, 1962: The Columbus Day Storm roared through the Pacific Northwest, killing 48 people and causing damage worth almost 6 billion dollars at today's rate.

He clearly explains that the government was more concerned about liability and reelection than taking a risk and going after the project. But, for those of you who think they decided to 'allow' Katrina to hit the coast and held off action, or intentionally steered it into the coast, I laugh out loud. I was there. They were just as much 'deer-in-the-headlights' as anyone. I remember once being on a conference call with the NHC when they said, "We live by the models, we die by the models.'

@rg2027x They feel we can't stop them now. The process is so far along now, so they think.

@grizzzlyjoe Im not sure what the end of your comment is suppose to mean but I don't think the elite have any land ownership in the new orleans area. It's known as the big easy down there for a reason.
One would think quite the opposite of Katrina. What better place to set something like that off but in a place where a large chunk of the people either live off very little and/or rely on the government for their lives.
Government gives and government takes away.
thanks alot ken.....this is the stuff that can be shared with the sheeple...
i'm so glad you can do what you do.......peace bro !

@grizzzlyjoe "This would, by default, mean that Katrina was deliberately left unmodified even though it posed a profound threat to property, specifically in New Orleans" Perhaps they knew something we average citizens didn't. That is, Katrina would cause significant damage, which would allow FEMA and other agencies to practice Martial Law and gun confiscations on the citizens of New Orleans for future events elsewhere on United States soil. They probably did some serious math.
