  • Sometimes I feel like maybe Stanley Kubrick was a pretty good film maker.

  • Crazyhelidude is wrong. The road in the opening of The Shining is "Glacier Route 1" or "Going to the Sun" road, in Glacier National Park in Montana. The lake is Saint Mary and the island is called "Wild Goose"

  • stanly + steven + jack = great movie

  • 冒頭の空撮の映像は何度観ても鳥肌が立つほど素晴らしい

  • What kind of demented musician comes up with this!?! Creepy is an understatement! At 1:14, it just gets too much to handle!!

  • really creepy but cool

  • If you really think about it, nothing much happens during the first 2 hours of the movie, but the music is so creepy that it makes the whole movie terrorfying.

  • @amstaffguy Actually, this was not written by Berlioz, although the same melody does occur in his symphony fantastique. He was quoting the Dies Irae, a 13th century plainchant which was used in funeral services of the catholic church for hundreds of years. Berlioz's audience would have recognized the tune instantly and appreciated its placement in the final movement of that symphony. It could be argued that this piece of the Shining score is an interpretation of Berlioz's interpretation.
