In Islam you are allowed to lie to non-believers to advance Islam. It is called Taqiyya. Muhammad said you can lie to your enemies or in fact you can lie to anyone. Takiya So those behind the Islamic mosque community center by Ground Zero are lying to you and it is ok to be a lair in Islam.

@GroundZeroMosque Yeah I'm aware of that. There's a forum I frequent called the council of ex-muslims, you can ask the ex-muslim there for their honest experiences if the concept of Taqiyyah is a widely discussed and taught. I've attended many formal and informal talks with imam and scholars of various sects and I never once heard Taqqiyah discussed - the first time I hear it was from non-muslim accusing muslims of widely teaching it.

@GroundZeroMosque I'm a former sunni muslim and Taqqiya is banded around by critics of Islam far too much. I never once heard the term from muslims, only from non-muslims. It's true that muslims try to put Islam in the best light when doing dawah but that's it.
