  • @Thanos700 I see what you are saying. BUt be careful using the medical communities DSM5. It takes years and years to change that thing. Dont let that book label people and their worth. As you see my son had a label of severe autism and with time it has gone to very high functioning, but he is still making steady progress. He is not MR. Believe it or not there are lots of autistics who are very successful and many aspergers individuals who do worse than some autistic s in society.

  • @KimberlyMahurin Asperger's Disorder is different from Autism, and it will be until 2013 when they revise the spectrum in the DSM5. Many people with Autism also suffer from intellectual disability and i dont like being called "autistic" because it paints a misleading picture of me. People with asperger's by definition are not cognitively impaired. That is why i prefer separate terminologies. lol sorry for cussing you out in an earlier post. May the force be with you.

  • If you have severe sensory issues there are therapies if you can afford them. They are very expensive. Look up Bolles Therapy.

  • @Thanos700 Autism is NOT mental retardation . Not even close. That term was used many years ago when the world did not understand it. Autistics and people with Aspergers are VERY intelligent. Bill Gates? Yes.........multi millionaire and what about Temple..........and there are so many more. Aspergers is the mildest form of autism. No way around it. Nothing is wrong with that.

  • Outstanding artwork. ^_^

I hope you meet some friendly people.

  • You're failing to realize that calling yourself "autistic" when you have Asperger's is misleading and offensive to some people. I understand that Asperger's is a condition on the autistic spectrum but as an adult with asperger's i feel uncomfortable when people try to call it the same thing as classic autism. I dont like being associated with mental retardation.
