GM please listen to me. Combine Saturn with Pontiac and call them Opels. Leave the G8, Vibe, VUE, Sky/Soltice (rename it GT), bring the Meriva and Corsa or Agila.
Idiot. A lot of people here in the U.S of A. DONT LIKE AMERICAN CARS. Even if you tell them they are better then some foreign cars they still WONT BUY American cars. So if Saturns where changed to Opel's in name also they will buy these cars. Why do you think Saturns dont' sell?
You can't turn Kias into luxury European(ish) cars overnight - GM alienated the Saturn buyer base the moment they started GM'izing the brand, integrating the components and well, everything else.
It's not nearly as simple as saying 'OH WELL IT'S A NAME THING'. For some people it is, turning two brands into a brand new nameplate won't change perception issues (HELLO IT'S A STILL A GM).
I agreed with you on this one "GM alienated the Saturn buyer base the moment they started GM'izing the brand" But you be surprise how many people now the Opel brand around the world and having another global name-like Chevy or Nissan-usually does wonders for a brand. Oh well, Saturn is dead what can we do about it I was going to buy a VUE but after hearing the rumors and now the facts, even if I can get a fully loaded XR or Redline for 1/2 I still wont get it.

Quick reminder: Saturn has never been profitable, it's a been a money pit and a waste of resources from the day it was conceived.
