Filmed an awesome tornado that struck our house. Lost my pants too. Filmed it in my Fruit of Looms underwear.
March 13, 1990 Cordova Illinois.
It left a lot of destruction.

Some of the safest buildings in the world are steel beam reinforced concrete buildings. They're specially designed to withstand hurricane force winds in excess of 200mph and are available through certain companies to be built in any area where high winds, hurricanes, or tornadoes are a common threat. Safe rooms - when buildings are designed with them - are often made this way, placed in the middle of houses or businesses or built as full basements.

@MrPaperclip82 No, Oklahoma makes much of the worlds bricks actually, and Oklahoma is right in the middle.
They are all brick now. (the new non custom ones atleast) but being someone whos been hit by tornados, they often cause a ton of damage (the bricks can all collapse off a building and it'll cause the house to collapse forward)

I am so surprised you haven't had more hits. Really this is one amazingly close call for your family. You probably have saved alot of lives. We here in Australia dont have tornadoes or so we thought. Since 2000 we have had at least ten. One close to my house in Adelaide. I always think of this video. Thankyou. You [probably have your own family now. Keep looking up.
