@smirnofowner dunno) i haven't heard from anyone with a v8 about that sort of mileage. maybe you have petrol of better quality there. or maybe you're a very calm driver)
or maybe you don't get traffic jams, because when you are in a really heavy one, my 744 can have 18l/100km.
@zloychechen5150 well, that car must be out of tune. My Lincoln has good milage for its size 9l/100 km highway and 12 in town, its basicly the same car as the crownvic.
@smirnofowner nope, spares aren't a problem and they're quite cheap. but still when you see an older american car it's usually rusty and making noises like a sinking airplane.
the problem, i think, is that their fuel consumption doesn't correspond to their price, and the usual car-killing cycle (consecutive ownership by people with smaller and smaller income) goes on faster.I once thought of getting a crown vic, which is really cheap to run(spares), but 20L/100 made me not do it.
@zloychechen5150 i think thie die as a result of no spareparts an lack of maitinance.
i live in sweden and drives a Lincoln Towncar and Volvo 745 as daily drivers, a Camaro z28 convertible and a Cadillac 1961 convertible are my summercruisers. The Volvo does what its supose to do, takes me from A-B dut i rather drive the Lincoln.
@smirnofowner volvos are boxes on wheels. the best ones. that's it. luxury never has really been their thing. but they're tough. and i don't recall seeing many american cars older than 10 years of age. because in tough conditions like in russia they just die. volvos dont, neither do mercs.
@09feb1992 Volvo will always be superior to American cars - period. When it comes to German cars, now that's a contest... German engineering was always superior. Volvo was always known for their safety and handling however, untill the US bought Volvo and fucked it all up of course. However, that tends to be a trend with the US - Take shit over, and completely ruin it.
I actually laughed when they showed the Volvo. Not only is it hideous, next to those cars, but it's just a hideous car, period! The Caddilac Deville looked the best, but the Merc is probably engineered the best.
Volvo was a ncie car but, it rode too firmly for an American to enjoy.
