Ok, as a martial artist, I'd have had a /field day/ with these a's.
//ESPECIALLY// when the cop said it's not illegal to punch someone in the face. 'Cause then I'd say "Oh really? So, you'd be ok with it if /I/ went over there and punched that guy in the face right now? Yes? Ok!" and then go do so.
What bar was this, and when would you like to go back there with me and replicate this incident with backup?

Bad cops. Unfortunately they are sensitised to be hard line against college age kids. It sucks, but they have to deal with hoards of young hoodlums (unlike yourself) and can't seem discern between good guys and bad.
I would definitely file a complaint against the club, bouncer for assault and the police precinct.

Thatd be the day!!!! If the cops ever told me that getting punched in the face isnt illegal because im gay( which i am) ill slap my law enforecement book on the table and call them out on it and make sure they lose their badge for their ignorance,bias and lack of prefessionalism! They wont get away with that shit again! Guarantee that if u punched the straight guy they woulda cuffed ur ass in a heartbeat. Why? becus we're gay...grr
