God i hate how much it matters to indians on skin color. Why should being darker skin EVER be a defect?? I am a gori like as white as they come with absolutly no color in my skin and i would give ANYTHING to have a darker south indian complexion. seriously.

DM5498 has a fair point. This song is mainly composed for the chick who plays Kani (the heroine) and she's quite pretty. The other chick that plays Sophia is darker hued and the simpler one, in terms of looks.
But we get the core message of the song - when you fall in love, someone's looks or complexion are immaterial.
