Isn't the shell bleached with chemicals?

@JamieVegas These are pastured eggs. I haven't looked into whether or not commercial eggs contains chemicals on the outer shell.

@TheCoconutMomma I can't find the reference right now, but i believe dolomite has higher lead content than eggshells.

You mention using a Vitamix to grind the eggshells into a powder. I have a Vitamix, but worry that the blade might be damaged if used this way. Do you have any experience grinding eggshells with a Vitamix?

I've been using dolomite for extra calcium. Do you know of any negative side affects to dolomite? Would egg shells be better? Thank you =)

bleach is typically chlorine based which would turn to gas during boiling.
