Korean Taekwondo ( 태권도 ) -1

Taekwondo is Korea's most famous martial art. It has been selected as an Olympic sport and has a massive international following. Some 70 million people practice the sport in 170 countries around the world.

Taekwondo is called the martial art of the gentleman. Before the practitioner attacks, he must be able to calm the opponent with his words or expressions. And if he cannot do that, the practitioner must stop the attacks of the opponent and persuade him to give up. The taekwondo uniform, belt and patterns all contain the philosophy of taekwondo. That's why foreigners who practice taekwondo think of it as a difficult martial art that is not only physical, but one that must also be mastered spiritually.

Recently, taekwondo has been analyzed scientifically. A man standing straight is said to have a 180-degree angle from the ground, half that is 90 degrees and half of that is 45 degrees. This is the scientific principle behind taekwondo
