I used the TNT sparklers. Started will electrical tape and wraped it up tight then used nylon strapping tape. The real trick though is covering the top of it right. You want to have one sparkler sticking up about 2 or 3 inches. When covering the top leave a small gap between the tape and fuse sparkler. I find the if too close it will snuff it self out, too far away and it will have more of a fountain affect and sometimes with out an explosion.
