Be sure to torque the tuning pegs nuts to 1200 foot punds ;)

All that work and you put the tuners on wrong. The posts are supposed to pull against the gears, not away.

sarcasm? do I detect sarcasm? The way you use the reamer, you have "a perfect" fit on only a very thin line. This will allow the post to wobble under string tension. Again, the point of using a tapered reamer is to make a proper hole for a tapered peg. Use the right size drill bit and you won't have a "loose fitting hole" for your tuner post. And, just another small point, if your headstock was the right thickness, you wouldn't have to cut down the nuts. Still great work

ah! i thought it was another - I'm looking for inexpensive tools - craigslist, I suppose - looking to spend 5075 for used bandsaw and drill press- the economy, no less

@switchdoktor Nope, but if there are any details you'd like about how to make a set let us know and we can do a video on your question!
why would you use a peg hole reamer (tapered) to cut the hole for guitar tuner posts that are uniform diameter (parallel)? Most of your stuff is really well thought out, but this is really a misapplication to the tool. I am sure that you can successfully install guitar tuners with a simple drill bit to cut the holes. (I've done probably a thousand installations by now. And, yes, I do own both peg and tuner reamers,

@sam67216 Thanks for letting us know that we can drill a hole with a drill Sam. A peg hole reamer works quite well for sizing up the holes for a perfect fit (rather than using a bit for a loose fitting hole).
