The Met Police Commissioner has told LBC 97.3 that the force must improve how it deals with black suspects.

Following the case of a policeman allegedly shouting racist remarks at a black suspect, ten other cases of alleged racism are being investigated by the police watchdog.

Bernard Hogan Howe says London's diversity can't be used an excuse for failure. He told Nick Ferrari that those investigations will be completed in the next four weeks.

Live on LBC 97.3, Mr Hogan Howe insists standards are improving and that racists would find him to be "an implacable enemy".

You can't just judge racist incidents on the trickle that bother to report such incidents; racist incidents are certainly a pervasive problem.

To be fair though, the inherent problem is not racism per se but prejudice and all humans are prejudiced towards certain things. So his proposal to install CCTV cameras in vans and cars is a great idea, I hope this idea eventually gets implemented.
