It's 2 January 1990 - and as presenter Andy Crane says, this was the first Children's BBC junction of the 1990s.
This is the opening link to a Tuesday afternoon, presented as usual from The Broom Cupboard. It's preceded by two trails - one for a new drama series called "Little Sir Nicholas" (produced by Richard Callanan, directed by Andrew Morgan) and one for the BBC Enterprises magazine "Fast Forward".
There's a slight drama when the first trailer is mistakenly broadcast without a voiceover (at the time they were voiced live) and in the confusion there's a flash of VT clock before the second trail appears.
Happily, CBBC soon gets under way and the opening link into Dooby Duck's Disco Bus includes a naked Edd (!) and details of Andy's New Year resolution.
