They did this to my father once. He actually had to call them back. The way he finally got them go cancel is to tell them he was a Mormon going on a religious journey and that he wouldn't be anywhere near a computer. They asked him if anybody else would be there to use the computer, he told them no, and they promptly canceled it for him. I guess they couldn't think of anything to say to that.

The guy was fired, turns out. Makes me wonder if all their operators were like that, or if this guy was just a complete dick. Some of that didn't come off of a script, so it seems like he was trying to dignify his shitty job by acting authoritative.

Either way, fuck that little smart-ass. Just cancel the guy's account and go back to shoving chips in your piehole.

if you want to cancel an account you tell your credit card company that you don't recognize the charge and that your not paying for it. period, that's all you need to do if they won't easily do it for you when you want to.

It took me 3 months to cancel aol. They refused to cancel the account . This was in 2002
