I have met over the years about a dozen of my people from Turkey, not all think the way you say and I loved spending time with them, I mean i felt so close to them. My Grandmother said once " even speaking our old language could get us killed"

  • @missyessy19

I am very happy for you to remain the way you are, bacheh khar

  • @PeopleOfAr

Ive never been to Turkey, I would love to go and see our people there.

Well, yes Turkey can be a bit funny about these issues, in Iran even after the revolution all people from different religions and races were free to do and speak their language.

Even the Jews in Iran live very freely, they are the richest and even have parliment members to represent the Jewish people in Iran.

Well, why would I speak still the old language if there was no connection?

Thanks, when I was wondering what would define me in youtube, I thought I am Hemsheni and my soul is too. So hokishemshen,

  • @PeopleOfAr

Small number of Hemsin families went to Iran, especially near the Caspian sea, I dont why they did but they did.

People have that nothing of value to offer in a conversation are not worth a response. We have an Iranian saying which translates to: " The answer to fools is silence"

Or another one " Courteous men learn courtesy from the discourteous"

So ignore the people with hate.

  • @hokishemshen btw you have a great YT name, I bet the person cursing doesn't understand its meaning :)

  • @hokishemshen I hope they work out the problems with America in a peaceful way. It would be very tragic for the world if another war would start in the region. I think those people who want war don’t know what it’s like really. After the fall of soviet union we got a lot of wars and we don’t need any more. Hope they work it out eventually.

  • @hokishemshen I understand it very well though and have no problem what so ever with people’s one choices. Just think they need to know the truth and then can decide for themselves. I think those who try to hide our history have different agenda’s, like that person who curses me for no reason lol. It is very interesting to hear about Hamshen in Iran. I never knew about it but it does make sense I guess. My encounters with Iranian people where always very friendly.

  • @hokishemshen We even have own newspaper called Hamshen and are doing overall very well economically speaking. In Turkey for many years it was forbidden to know true identity. They wanted everyone to assimilate to one Turkishness. My Turkish friends told me this first hand. Kurds where called Mountain Turks (you can even Google this), us Hamshentsi they said were unrelated to Armenians etc… Because of this many of our brothers don’t know much about their Armenian roots.

  • @hokishemshen But in the end we're all brothers and sisters when you really think about it, no matter what nation or faith. And yes our language is old Armenian, your mother is correct. Hamshentsi have preserved many ancient customs now lost among modern Armenians. When I was a child in Abkhazia was communism so all religions where banned. But there was no prosecution on the grounds of ethnicity, and we remained Hamshen Armenians. There are still a lot of us in Abkhazia and southern Russia.
