The song "Mein Schatz" (My precious) by the german industrial metal band OOMPH!, from their 9th album GlaubeLiebeTod (2006)

TRANSLATIONS

Everyone wants to touch the ring
No one can resist it
And they let themselves be seduced
Because the ring is beautiful

Come here! To me
Back to me

But the ring must wander on
From one hand to the next
Everyone wants to see the magic
Because the ring is beatiful

My precious
It's my precious
Take the ring off your finger
Because I want the ring back
It's my precious
It's my precious

Someone stole you from me
You're still so endlessly far away
But I'll get you back
Come back to your Lord

Come here! To me...

But the ring must wander on...

My precious...

  • I think this song is about whatever way one wants to take it as meaning. That is what music is supposed to be. Hate me, but music is music, it is more about feeling than anything. This song, Schatz means precious, so it can be LOTR or love. It is however you want to connect the lyrics to who you are.

  • Ich liebe OOMPH

  • I imagine my self in a B2 Bomber fuckin up hajis listining to this song

  • That riff in the verse is industrial metal at its finest.

  • i violently masturbate to this song before i go to bed.

  • During a live show on Masters of Rock this year, the singer spoke of LotR and kept mimicking Gollum for whole duration of the song.

  • So I love how everyone is comparing OOMPH! to R+....Granted R+ credited OOMPH! for their inspiration, but honestly I think R+ might be a little heavier.
