Crysis W/8600GT - Ultra High Quality Config.

Well, my tank laptop did it again, it runs it fairly well. I thought its FPS would crash on the Ultra High Quality config, and they did, but not as bad as I thought.

Laptop Specs:
Geforce 8600GT 512MB GDDR3
Intel Turbo 1GB Card
Intel Core2Duo @ 2.4Ghz
4GB RAM

Running this vid of the crysis demo in:
1400x1050
Ultra High Config - Maxxed Everything+
The video looks weird cuz it goes from slow to normal back and forth. But the FPS are as follows:

With Fraps:
About 15-25 FPS
8-12 FPS in Intense areas (Oh thats not nice).

Without Fraps:
About 18-30 FPS
14-18 in Intense areas. (Not bad for 8600GT)

Btw Im running Vista Home w/DX10

My Conclusion:
Im suprised. Didn't think it would perform that well. Would I play a full game in those settings, probably not.

I usually play the game in, 1400x1050 with everything set to High, except Physics on Medium and Shadows on Medium and Medium on Particles. That gives me a nice 30-50 FPS. With maybe drops of 25 FPS in heavy action.

To give you Idea of how much I cranked it:

Default Light Beams For Very High Settings is 200 Beams, I set it to 512.

Default Setting for Fill Lights on Very High is like 16 or something, I set it to 64.

O yea, AA is maxxed too.

@IMattNovakI agreed if u got a HD 4870 then theres no reason why you shouldn't be able to play the game? But I advise that you either get 4870X2 or equivalent... If not higher... like a GTX275 or 260 even would run this quite nicely! if you got the cash the shell it out for a 5890 because not only you have DX11 for the future but it's a monster of a card! The processing power is insane...

its impossible to turn on AA in crysis with Ultra high settings even with more powerful v/o card of 8 series, because it would be completely unplayable. As you can see (or you can't) this card is in the laptop so the actual fps would be a little bit bigger if it was in regular PC
