Governor Jon Corzine announces that the New Jersey Department of Education has approved eight new charter schools during ribbon cutting ceremonies for the SPARK Academy Charter School in Newark, N.J. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009. The successful applicants can now begin planning and start-up activities leading to new school openings next September.
This is one good move for NJ. Charter schools force a level of accountability not found in public schools.
Uniforms/same outfits also don't leave poorer children wishing they could have their peers nicer clothes (or in some cases, stealing them)
Corzine, this is good, but not enough.
