They say George Chuvalo was never knocked down but Bonavena hit him a shot that sent him reeling into the ropes and he would have been down if the ropes hadn't been there. Ringo was a tough customer. Gave Joe Frazier a good fight.

Joe Louis also beat twice Buddy Baer, who was 6'6" and weighed in between 240 and 250 pounds. Louis actually knocked him out twice but one was considered a disqualifiction when Baer's corner jumped into the ring to stop the fight. So if Louis could hurt Carnera, Baer, and Abe Simon who is variously listed as either 6'4" or 6'5" and in the 260 pound range, he could also have hurt, at least, Wladimir Klitschko.

@eldiezmaradona Joe Louis knocked out Prima Canera who weighed 265 and was 6 foot 5. Joe weighed 197, He also knocked out Abe Simon who weighed 268. Weight means nothing. Klitchko's are the biggest jokes in boxing history. They're fighting at a time where most boxers who would be in the game are playing tight end in the NFL.
