@juddgreg333 You've got that right about moeller, especially the magic moment you realize that to groove you have to loose as a goose. All the greats play with soft hands, lots of space, using the natural bounce of the stick off the drum. Do you remember when you noticed when the drums and stick were almost playing themselves? What a moment!

This is like slapping thick slabs of meat back on the bone!
Big, thick and chunky groovin'.

i'll tell ya so many drummers could learn a thing or two by watching and analyzing how Mr. Ferrone approaches his instrument. Watching him play is probaly similar to watching him read a paper in his living room so relaxed and not exerting himself whatsoever. The moeller technique really should be oe of the first things young drummers are exposed to would have saved me alot of hassel and time when i was a scrap.

I wish you to meet him. He's a great guy. I met him several times and spent quite a bit of time with him last week. He's a very funny and friendly gentleman.
In complete control of his dynamics, and feels great. Phenomenal. Not to mention everything he's playing is just picture perfect for the context, and drips with personality. Exactly what a drummer should be doing, 100% of the time.

Steve Ferrone came to be one of my favorite drummers from the incredible work he did with Chaka Khan. I really hope to meet him one day... him and Chris Dave!!!!
