add &fmt=18 for stereo. David W. Guion (1892-1981) composed pieces based on cowboy and fiddler tunes of his native West Texas, and is perhaps best known for "Home on the Range" and a virtuoso piano version of "Turkey in the Straw." Percy Grainger loved sprinkling light, humorous pieces based on folk music into his concerts, including "Turkey in the Straw" and other Guion pieces. Here Grainger plays a lesser known but delightful Guion piece derived from songs of the southwest, on Aeolian Duo Art roll #7083, recorded in 1927, and played here on a recently restored 6'1" Steck Duo Art grand built in 1920.
