A Gypsy Gathering at Appleby Horse Fair - preview

Everyone is welcome at Appleby Fair. It is one of those rare events where there is no admission fee. You are an invited guest, where you can watch gypsies washing there horses in the River Eden, find horse dealers buying and selling Skewbald and Piebald ponies, see sulkies racing down the lane to Long Marton, or amble along the aisles of the huge market. All the Gypsies in England come to Appleby Horse Fair and bring the sleepy Cumbrian town to life.

If you ever go to Appleby Horse Fair, you will be an invited guest. It's like the aristocracy, the gypsies will be so nice to you, they will treat you with exceptional manners, but you will never be one of them. And as long as you both realise that, you will get along champion.

Features all the action from this years Appleby Horse Fair, including; living waggons on the road, horse washing in the River Eden, sulky racing on the road to Long Marton, plus very rare film (unseen) footage from Appleby Fair from 1974.

It is disgusting all the racist comments on here towards the Gypsy community. Many Gypsy men fought during WW2 against the Nazis, there is good and bad amongst every community on Earth. The real Gypsy community has strong family value's and a a strong work ethic which could teach our increasingly immoral and selfish society (UK) a thing or two!

@spazzacake dont be afraid to go....i too am one of those horsey toffs lol and i go every year without fail!!!! nobody will judhge you atall!!!! they make you so welcome!!!!! you will learn so much from the people there!!!! there horsemanship is amazing and the results they can get from the horses they have is amazing!!!!!!!! and the horse 15 seconds in i dont think is lame if you look really closely it infact has a gait abnormality called dishing but this horse has it in both front legs!!!

@loubidy hi i dont think they wrecked your horse they trained him for the use they wanted him for thats like someone who rides dressage buying a showjumper and saying that they wrecked it because they dont tech them extended trot or to bend round corners like a dressage horse....they never they just schooled it too the way they want it! if your horse was that bad and that 'wrecked' as u put it then why did u buy it!!

Damn Gypos, Wrecked my horse! He trots all stupid and really struggles to get a rhythm, he's finally starting to learn now though, but he's been taught some seriously bad habbits!!
