@TheBestinTest My guess...you don't practice much. Especially not one song over and over (or better yet, one part of a song over and over) until you have it right. Don't settle for "close."
You should really be excellent. It will take work. But it's totally worth it, I think.

@TheBestinTest I watched your videos. Were the dudes playing "Green Onions" your band? I also watched the one where you had just woken up and you were playing little bits and pieces. You played "Here Comes the Sun" for a very short time.
If that's all you, then you've got the hand do play guitar. Long fingers, nice and loose. You should be good. But you need to actually play one song and play it well. When you were playing "Here Comes the Sun" your timing was off.

Cool! I do have a lot of video lessons out there. This video is a couple of years old. I hope you love that guitar!

When I hear music in my head, I also visualize a performance. The type of music differs. Sometimes I can hear a symphony, or an entirely different genre and it is not music that I have heard before. Once it is triggered, I consciously 'make' the music in my head. Now, at other times it may just be a solo folk singer with a guitar. It could be male or female. I create nonsense lyrics to go with the pitch, tone and range of the voice that I hear. I hope you don't think I am crazy. :-(

If I hear a note, I cannot identify it. As for singing, I don't do that very well and I my range is really limited. I believe I have an ear for music. I started on guitar this summer and I created a short tune with Am, Dm, an open chord and some picking. Perhaps you could listen to it? I might end up being one of those who you think should just go learn. I would still feel, however, that your lessons, ie. advice on changing from G to D, and timing being so important, are extremely helpful :-)

Never said that. The words in quotes...who are they quoting? Not me, so not a clue what you are talking about. I re-watched this video from so long ago, which was entertaining.

Cool video, I have no talent and I've been working hard for the last several weeks but get discouraged easy. That doesn't matter I just wanted to let you know that I like your videos. They help me more than anyone else, so thanks man.

You've only been working for "several weeks?" Well, that's not much time. If you stick with it, it will be much more frustrating at times, probably. But that just means you know what you want and you aren't there yet. But at least you know what you want.
I hope you stick with it. While having talent makes it all easier, it can still be done. Especially if you keep your goals realistic and progress with them.
