the replacement vx1000 unboxing

my fully functioning replacement vx1000 finally came in on dec/18/2010.

my original vx1000 has been down for a while now ever since the end of august. right after it broke i started saving for another one. i had no work during september but during october i worked at a house that wanted a massive patio and walkway put in. the job was done around halloween and i had made around 1000$. the beginning of november i ordered the new vx1000 for 685$ and on saturday nov/6 it came in. when i opened the box the camera was completely mangled. imagine a vx that was drop kicked a few times. the microphone fell off and i couldn't physically turn it on cause the power knob was smashed in along with the sound of smashed plastic bits when it was shaken it was completely totaled. it was wrecked in shipping since the box was the exact size of the camera but luckily the seller accepted returns so first thing monday i sent it back. the next week i sent the seller a message on when i should be expecting a refund. he told me next week so when that came around he pushed the refund back another week. this went on till some time in december. now i worked my ass off for that money so by now im pissed. i just want my money so i can order another one but the seller kept giving me excuses. so one day im done with this shit. i send him messages saying you have till this date before i contact ebay and have them deal with you. he messages back that he has another vx1000 that he'll send me. after waiting a month and a half for a refund i don't trust this guy and with no pictures to prove this is a working vx i couldn't take it. i figure it was the one he sent me only fixed up but after seeing it in the state it was when i got it i wouldn't care what they did to bring it back i would not accept it. realizing there was no way i would get my money back on my own i contacted ebay. with ebay in the mix everything moved along faster. eventually the seller sent me pictures of the other vx he was offering. the pictures definitely convinced me it wasn't the same camera. i had remembered the serial number of the first camera and this camera was definitely a different one so i decided to accept it and about a week and a half later it came to my door. finally!

@igarcia165 aw man you like that kind of camera i cant stand them there like an automatic car sure its easier to use but you don't get the performance and control of a manual. also you cant tell how a vx1000 preforms if you've only tried a vx2100 there totally different cameras. i hate the 2100 and i own a 2000 which has the same exact quality and control sensitivity only with a few less features. sony fucked up on the later vx models.
