couldn't the extra mass be coming from all the decaying organics on the surface?

I f we think back to how creation can even exist we can conclude that the universe has already proven that nothingness can transform into what we know today. Therefore if nothing can become everything as we know it, than anything in theory is possible. It’s only a matter of how. If the universe can expand why not the contents within it.

@TheGrowingAwareness This just doesn't work because we've PROVEN that the crust floats on the mantle. You can see how far down earthquakes go along the crust and see a perfect picture of the plate that's riding on.
Also, where is this new matter coming from that's causing the earth to grow? There's just more holes in this guesswork than the more accepted - AND YOUNGER theory of plate tectonics.

@michaeldublg I was thinking on the lines of these, I also was thinking more on the lines of a sponge that over time, earth could soften up from it's hot-cooling-hard stage to a form that has to be leveled out like oil, water, ect can't mix so over time water has made it's way out from everything else and in the process of this happening other material coming up from the core as in doing so we have been expanding. Water heated wants to raise easier than other forms of matter.

I assume he is making this presentation for camera, I can bet you there are no audience listening.

He wrote off the idea that the mass was the same rather quickly. Why is it not plausible that there was just a lot more gravity on the surface than today?
-
The earth never gets larger it was at its set size when it was formed.

really? So how do you know this? From books? From teachers? From research? From what? Everything we know we have been taught ... your guess is as good a guess as Nasa, or as Dr Maxlow, or a homeless person. It is all guesswork, we look for the facts, then draw a conclusion. As new facts arise conclusions change and understanding grows.
Often time what was once thought to be absolute no longer is.
We once thought the earth was flat by the so called "professionals" on the planet

Wait... So matter decays into radiation, thus decreasing in mass, and then the energy condensates back into MORE MASS THAN WAS NEEDED TO CREATE IT??? Apparently E=mc^2 only holds in the direction you want it to...

@Aleksandrgrc I agree also. There is no iron inner core of Earth, is a hydrogen/helium oneresponsable for the magnetic field. Just imagine our Sun being the size of Earth, he has "to fight" with the cold space, therefore, we have the crust. And even in the case of our Sun or bigger ones, space always win by sheer quantity compared with the limited Sun (blowing up and partially colapsing in itself in the end).
The Eart is just a tiny crusty Sun.
:)
So this means earth could in fact be more than 4.6 billion years old... considering that molten rock cannot be dated... we don't know how long earth was molten if it was...

@miketite the only way the earth can be expanding is yes, it is hollow OR the mass of the earth is becoming less dense like a sponge OR material is being added by a micro singularity at the core OR material is being added from space in a way we are not aware of OR the earth is some how in a way alive and grows using particles, from space, the son or meteorites as some kind of fertilizer or nutrient to grow.
