Fokker 90 years S11 flight

On 21 July 2009, former aircraft manufacturer and now aircraft maintenance company Fokker was celebrating it's 90th anniversary. To make this an unforgettable event, the Company decided to ask the famous Fokker 4 (comprising of 4 historic Fokker S11 aircraft) to tour all of Fokker's branches in The Netherlands. The Fokker 4 were flying in close formation and they brought a special salute to Fokker's employees in Hoogeveen, Hoogerheide, Papendrecht, Nieuw-Vennep and Schiphol-East.
On top of that, they also circled around The Grote Kerk in Haarlem (just like Anthony Fokker did almost 100 years ago) and around Amsterdam airport's air traffic control towers (with a huge, special Thanks to Schiphol's air traffic controllers!).
Being one of the winners of a contest that Fokker had organized for it's employees, I was one of the lucky few to be on board one of the Fokker S11's. We took off from Seppe airport (between Breda and Roosendaal) and flew over Moerdijk, Papendrecht, Gouda, Alphen a/d Rijn, Sassenheim, Noordwijk, Lisse, Nieuw-Vennep, Haarlem, Amsterdam Schiphol and Naarden. We landed at Lelystad airport.
The experience was just awesome and I enjoyed each and every second of it!!!

Blijft geweldig om die mooie kisten te zien vliegen.

Het gerucht gaat trouwens dat Mark Rutte het bedrijf Fokker weer gaat heropenen om de arbeidsmarkt te stimuleren, hopelijk maken ze dan ook die goeie ouwe kleine D.XXI'ers en misschien zelfs de G.1!
